Title race of the 2009-2010 premier league
The 2009–2010 Premier League is the eighteenth term of the Premier League. Starting from 1992, now it is one of the most popular leagues around the world. In this season, 20 teams are competing. Manchester United is the defending champions. The season began on 15 August and is scheduled to end on 9 May 2010.
The main competition is going to take place among the four giants- Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. They are the major contenders for the Premier League Championship.
Arsenal hasn’t won any major championship for about four years now. The sudden sell-out of some of their regular players and the uncertainty over others have created the suspicions about their winning chances.
However, they can’t be thrown out of the race. In the last season, most of their valuable players were injured. If the entire player stays fit and remains perfect in their form, then Arsenal is going to be major contender for the trophy.
Manchester United has lost Cristiano Ronaldo, who was their best player in last two seasons. They do have signed Michael Owen and Antonio Valencia. But, without Ronaldo United is much weaker and wouldn’t be as amusing as before.
Chelsea is one of those few clubs, who hasn’t lost their key players in the summer. Their new coach Carlo Ancelotti is a European master tactician. With well-formed players and charismatic coach, Chelsea is one of the leading two contenders for the championship.
Liverpool unfortunately finished with the second place at the last season. But, this year captain Gerrard and all his team mates are determined to win the trophy.
